IBOGA from the shamanic point of view

Iboga is here to teach, heal and show us the truth.
To reunite with the divine within us.
Iboga has the wisdom to seek out and heal the root of our trauma.
As a master teacher, Iboga gives a glimpse of life if we were to continue down a path,
where we are unaware of our true selves.
It shows how wonderful life can be when we cleanse old patterns and finally start treating our lives with value, respect and love.
Iboga promotes a reconnection with our soul and aligns us to our purest state.

lateststudieshave also shown that iboga is said to help very well with addictions. Ibogaine is a powerful alkaloid found in the root bark of Tabernanthe iboga, an African shrub. Although it has only been studied outside of traditional clinical settings, there are numerous reports and studies suggesting that ibogaine may play a positive role in reversing drug addiction. Those who have taken ibogaine often report the profound effect it has on their mood, lifestyle and outlook on life. It seems to act like a reset button for those looking to break free from drug addiction, allowing them to be at peace with themselves and start over. Ibogaine's potential as a possible solution to the treatment of addiction makes it worthy of receiving more attention from the medical community than it currently has.

Extracted from the root bark of the Tabernanthe iboga shrub, this mysterious brown powder may hold the key to permanent addiction cessation for many. Taking a single dose of ibogaine is said to be enough to combat cravings for nicotine, heroin or other drugs. Preliminary results suggest that ibogaine not only reduces withdrawal symptoms such as cravings and aggressive behavior, but also elevates mood and energy levels, helping to regain feelings of peace, purposefulness, motivation and joy - all essential components in eliminating physical or mental depression dependencies.

The History of Iboga

Iboga is a fascinating onenatural productwith a rich history. It has been used in rituals by African communities for hundreds if not thousands of years. The first Western records of ibogaine date back to the 19th century.

It was only after its synthesis by George Büchi in 1966 that scientists were able to truly unravel the mysteries of this powerful substance. Most ibogaine comes from the Tabernanthe iboga shrub, and the discoveries of Jan Dybowski and Edouard Landrin in 1901 went a long way toward understanding how this substance works. Ibogaine has garnered increasing attention for its potential mental health benefits and addiction treatment, adding yet another layer to its already mysterious past.

Between the 1930s and 1960s, the extract from the Tabernanthe manii plant, also known as ibogaine, became lambarène - a popular stimulant on the French market said to provide physical and mental performance enhancement. It was well known to athletes of all persuasions who used it to surpass their previous levels of performance. Unfortunately, the use of ibogaine came at a heavy price when the French Ministry of Health officially endorsed it on its territory, due to increasing concerns about its impact on human healthillegalexplained. These warnings resulted in warrants being issued to take ibogaine off the market, the World Health Assembly declaring the substance of high concern and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration designating it "schedule 1" assigned, meaning that no medicinal use is accepted.

In the 1960s, researchers began to take note of ibogaine's potential therapeutic effects. A special milestone came in 1962 when Howard Lotsof and five friends decided to experiment with the substance. This group happened to all be heroin addicts and found that after taking ibogaine, both cravings and withdrawal symptoms decreased drastically. In a 1994 interview with The New York Times, Lotsof recounted his experience—originally he just wanted to find a new high—which turned into a powerful experience he described as "breaking free from his addiction". This individual's experience has led to greater recognition of ibogaine's ability to treat addictions.

The effects of iboga

Ibogaine acts on various neurotransmitter systems and has a high affinity for the sigma-2 receptor. It is metabolized by the enzyme cytochrome P450 2D6, which can interact with other chemicals. In addition, noribogaine appears to act on the NMDA receptor as both a weak antagonist and a moderate agonist of the kappa-opioid receptor; however, these mechanisms remain to be elucidated.
